Direct marketing has different streams. The good old door to door sale, mail ordering, multi level marketing to name a few. E-commerce also brought a powerful medium to selling. But the best thing ever happened to direct marketing is multi level marketing. But the term MLM is turned out synonimous with spam, or push marketing. This mainly done by unscrupulous fly-by-night operators with pyramidal schemes. The legitimate direct marketing model pioneered and developed by values based companies like Amway continue to provide great opportunities for those have big dreams and drive. Multi Level Marketing equipped with Internet communication and e-commerce turned out a big wealth creating opportunity very silently in the grassroot level of economy. After initial doubts big fast growing countries like China embraced MLM in a big way. The massively growing wellness and nutrition industry depending a great on MLM for distribution. The new generation entrepreneurs of MLM rechristened it as Intellectual distribution. The big traditional companies also trying the MLM model in many developing countries like India.
The best things of quality are said to be sold by itself. The reason is mouth to mouth publicity. Rolls Royce not advertising for generating leads. Their advertisements are just celebration of its quality. Actually buying decisions of such high value quality products are done by the persons joys of using such things. These joy is contagious. The intellectual distribution model is leveraging on this model. The users of such high quality products turns out to be the brand ambassadors. Their enthusiasm sells the products along with the opportunity. A product linked with an opportunity has got rocket fuel to propel it into market if and only if the product is unique , justly priced and of High quality. In true MLM only quality sells. The quality along with good opportunity backed with a solid company with values and a bullet proof compensation plan do the work.

To be a business owner is about taking responsibility. In direct marketing the major force and those who have advantage are independent business owners. They are the stock barrel and gun of their business. They should take ownership and have synergistic networking with others of their kindred. The direct marketing independent business is most simple. That is its power. And the simplicity is deceptive because it needs your full personal expression and realisation. The driving force in all major businesses are capital. You invest in land, labour and equipments. That investment itself demand your total attention and devotion. But in case if a direct selling business owner his Dream is his primary driving force. He should be always motivated and propelled by his genuine Dreams. His game is for winning, not for defending as the normal businessmen play. Either he plays to win, or no game at all, for there is no question of losing. The greatest Networker Dexter Yager's most famous quote is ,"Don't allow someone to Steel your Dreams". All the creative aspects of life is powered by dreams of mankind, rather powerful dreams. Powerful dreams should be translated into goals. They are realised by the action energised from the power house of Dreams...Revolution is One of the gratest Dreams in socio political realm. Financial Freedom is the most powerful dream in Economic realm. But the political reality is bound on the economic reality. The revolutionaries are financially free. As Mao said revolutionaries live among the people like fish in the water. The direct seller is the revolutionary, the fish in the water who is neither a predator nor a prey...Its really silent revolution bringing financial freedom to deep individual levels. It is the baby of Free enterprise which build imperial capitalism. But in essence it is anti imperialist.
But Selling is less glamorous than revolutionary action.

Spring Wanders at the market Palce... Pablo Neruda

As everyone else I dont like being sold anything. But everything on me and all the things i consumed throughout my life was sold by someone to me. I am selling my services for a Living. It is better to be on the seller side than the buyer side. Even though customer is the King, he has no kingdom or power left. A smart seller rules him making the buyer feeling as a king. The common aura around sellers and market is that of Shylocks. Professionals and good citizens feels that marketers are robbers, middle men enjoying the better place between manufaturers and consumers. Is any value added during marketing? Is the middlemen marketers to be eliminated in a better society? Marketing is glove in hand with liers, hype creaters and manipulaters. They are feeding the corruption in society by pushing themselves with bribes, commissions and lobbying.

So what is left? Can we do away with marketers? But the market forces are what controlling the society. Market forces are self correcting. It like the ecology balancing pollutive manufacturing system with its global warming, cyclone unleashing, siesmic balacing of contintalplate-stresses. Marketing forces are really causing social corrective forces with the tidal wave of socio political uprisings.

What is left for common women to live in the whirling ebb of marketing forces? The marketing forces itself arms us with some defensive mechanisms which is corrective in itself. So I find direct marketing or "one to one" marketing is empowering people around the globe to survive in the ever changing marketing force balancing system and to contribute to the market ecosystem. In direct marketing the market adds value by taking the responsibility of the product or service. It is a transaction with face, with a touch. Like our old bartering community, I sell one product to my neighbour as he sells a service for me, But neither of us manufactured or created it. It is a balanced power equation. As a buyer I am not humbled as made by the shopping malls' aggressive ambience which provide a kingly redcarpet treatment, but impoverising me more.
How I find direct marketing armour me to win in aworld where dynamic market forces play ever perpetuating chaos? Tomorrow is aways there in direct marketing..
